Yuri Ono is a Japanese-American artist currently living in Northeastern Massachusetts. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts.
Her artistic style is inspired by the work of 19th century writer and illustrator Beatrix Potter. These influences are most apparent in Yuri’s charming, amiable, and semi-realistic depiction of animals and nature. Her work is characterised by the wondrous and elegant scenery portrayed in her illustrations. Yuri’s art aims to evoke a sense of warmth to her audience.
Her favourite medium is pen and ink for line work, though she is also experienced with digital techniques, preferring Adobe Creative Suite for colorised projects. Yuri plans to develop her practice further by creating more black and white illustrations and focussing on watercolour techniques.
