Maja Stabel


Maja Stabel is a Norwegian Illustrator, Fashion Designer and Teacher. She is educated within Fashion Design (Bachelor) and Pedagogics (PPU) at Oslo and Akershus University College and Sustainable Fashion (Top-Up Bachelor) at KEA Copenhagen. 

Her work focuses on line drawing and vivid colour combinations to portray soulful characters using watercolour, markers and coloured pencils. She loves to draw people, especially portraits and describes her work as spontaneous and colourful. 

Her inspirations, among others, are Egon Schiele, Deborah Turbeville and Wes Anderson. Notable projects of Maja’s include producing a range of illustrations for Hotel Continental (a five star hotel in Oslo) that was animated into a video to portray their new look. Maja is now involved in a collaboration with fashion designer Cathrine Hammel where she embroided her illustrations onto t-shirts that will be sold in 160 stores across Norway and abroad. Maja also collaborates with clothing label Days Like This, producing prints for t-shirts, bags and dresses. 

Maja has worked with a broad range of high calibre clients including: Days Like This, Cathrine Hammel, L’Oreal Paris, Hotel Continental and Isadora. 

She lives on a farm outside Trondheim, Norway where she plans to start a centre for creativity to host workshops and events.
