Juliana Aschwanden-Vilaça

Juliana Aschwanden-Vilaça originally learned oil painting and studied architecture in Brazil, before moving to Switzerland, where she completed a post-graduate degree in Landscape Architecture and Illustration.

Her background has influenced her design through the construction of forms and her preference for natural themes and colours. Her illustrations are comprised of a mix of analogue and digital techniques, in particular, exploring textures. Her personal interests among nature includes music, in particular classic rock.

Notably, Juliana produced the illustrations for the picture book Tortuga erforscht die Evolution - Über die Vielfalt der Natur, a publication that explores the complex diversity of nature. Juliana was recently shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2018 hosted at Somerset House in London.
