Oscar Chavez currently resides in the Bay Area of California. He received his Illustration education from the Academy of Art University (AAU), in San Francisco.

He considers his work to be hyper-real, created in traditional acrylics and sometimes in mixed media, and digital media using Corel Painter.

“The fantastic art of Frank Frazzeta has heavily influenced my work, along with the breathtaking landscapes of Chesley Bonestell and John Harris. The extreme lights and darks are borrowed from the Grand Masters like Leonardo da Vinci and Caravaggio.”

Audiences have been able to enjoy Oscar’s paintings in person at the famous Pancakes and Booze art show, and the Fame Presents art show.
