Renata C. Abma
Renata Abma is a Brazilian artist living and working in Monterey, California. She is also an architect and graduated from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. Moving from one region to another helped shape her cultural views of the world as well as inspire her to create art in unique and varied ways. Abma draws inspiration for her watercolor and oil paintings from the natural world, urban environments and her love of vibrant colors and textures. Her work is a colorful depiction of places we create for ourselves and places that define who we are. Searching for place and meaning with the images she paints she seeks to illustrate a playful conversation between humans and nature.
