Katharina Rocksien
Katharina Rocksien is an illustrator, originally from Germany but now living in Perth, Australia.
Since childhood, she has loved the smell of printed paper and spotting the patterns that occur in nature. Today, this affinity is evident in her texture-rich collage illustrations, created by combining scans of collected materials with her digital drawings.
Katharina holds a BA in Communication Design from the London College of Communication and an MA in Media Studies from the Technical University in Berlin. Her clients include Thames & Hudson, Die Zeit, Simon & Schuster, Inc., The Guardian, The Times, The British Heart Foundation and Queensland Museum.
In 2014, Katharina was one of 70 international artists invited to participate in ‘Gromit Unleashed’, an art exhibition located in Hong Kong. All artwork was later auctioned off for charity supporting children’s hospitals.
