Sophie Dismore
Sophie Dismore is a self-taught artist enjoying the challenge of invention and experimentation in her chosen medium of pen and ink.
“Paper, pencils, pen and ink, my writing slope and light box wait to bring my work to life. My inspiration comes from a love of the natural world – just on my doorstep there are meadows, a river and just a little further, beaches, mountains and forests. Flowers, fungi, native birds and animals provide eternally fascinating subjects for my work.”
Photography is her other passion, capturing, up close and personal, the intricacies and delicacy of the plants in the palm house of the botanical gardens or the sweeping vistas of the mountains and coastline of the north of Ireland.
