Anu Saarikoski is a self taught Finnish artist living in Helsinki. She draws inspiration from subjects such as nature, stories, folklore, wildlife and Finnish culture. Artists such as Ellen Thesleff, Vincent Van Gogh, Audra Auclair and Scott M. Fischer have also inspired her work, which can be described as highly unique and of a dream-like quality. She prefers to work with traditional tools, trusting in textures and pen/brush strokes, occasionally mixing those with different media such as markers, watercolours, gouache and pastels, while also employing digital art tools when required. Anu has done commissions for student organisations, indie music bands and a social media fan art campaign for 20th Century Fox.
