Seiichi Yamamoto


Seiichi Yamamoto is a textile designer and a fashion illustrator from Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from his studies in 2015 with a BA in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London. 

After graduating from university he started a label devoted to neckties called NEWLY TIES: www.newlyties.com. His work as a textile designer for NEWLY TIES enabled him to work with a number influential boutiques in Tokyo including Fred Segal, J.PRESS KIDS and United Arrows. 

In 2018 he started a fashion illustration project, called HELLO_ SEIICHI. The concept of the project is to not to draw illustrations but instead, fashion. Seiichi says, “I prefer a drawing style with a warm atmosphere and urban taste.” 

He aims to express a cohesive influence in his textile and illustrative work. Regardless of medium his creations come from the same sense of fashion. 

His principal interests include the preppy aesthetic, sapeurs, Savile Row, Pitti Yomo, youth culture and succulent plants.
