Emily Mariah Lau is a native of Merrill, Wisconsin. She did not have a proper art class until high school but that didn’t stop her from doodling on anything and everything (including homework assignments which ended up getting her into trouble on occasion). Emily attended UW- Eau Claire and received a BFA in Illustration. She is the illustrator of the children’s book “Grooming Gracie” written by Linda Schraufnagel and published by Orange Hat Publishing. Emily primarily works with acrylic paint but incorporates mixed media into her work quite often; whether it be collage elements, gel pens, colored pencils, and even wax. Emily always carries a sketchbook with her because she never knows when inspiration will strike next.
