Groserona
Groserona is a visual artist and illustrator based in Sydney, Australia and Medellin, Colombia. She is inspired to create art in response to millennial life and social media. Groserona’s portfolio features pieces that are sweet yet sassy reflecting on themes such as female empowerment, rebellion, popular culture, mental illness and self discovery. She aims to create a world of cute girls and monsters fighting evil and winning love.
Her work features a predominantly pastel palette and is created using analogue techniques using Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils, though she is proficient with digital tools including Adobe Creative Suite. Groserona’s professional qualifications include a diploma of Visual Arts from Sydney TAFE and a Design degree from ESDITEC Technical School of Design.
In 2018 Groserona merged her love of fashion with her passion for illustration and began producing apparel and accessories inspired by her artwork. This project increased her professional network, resulting in invitations to participate in international arts festivals and events. Her next objective is to exhibit her work internationally.
