Pijus Burakas
Graphic designer and letterer Pijus Burakas currently resides in Vilnius, Lithuania.
He has received both a bachelor and master’s degree in Graphic Art from the Vilnius Academy of Arts as well as studying abroad at the Iceland Academy of the Arts. He is proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, but also uses traditional media such as pencil, brush and ink to produce his work.
Pijus describes his work as “Handwriting coming together with metaphors”. He is inspired by the Lithuanian poster artists practicing from 1970-2000’s. He is also inspired by Swiss and Dutch typography design, Latin and North American art along with Polish, Czech, and Finnish poster schools.
