Monica Maccaux currently resides in Reno, NV, and recently took on the position of Assistant Professor & Director of the Graphic Design Program at The University of Nevada, Reno. She has a BFA in Communications Design from Pratt Institute of the Arts, and an MFA from Otis College of Art & Design.

Her design practice, Blue Taco Design, focuses on client work ranging from apparel design, to branding and advertising projects. Her academic research focuses on type design and development, along with critical writing and conference presentations. Her typeface ‘Motorix’ is available for purchase via PSY/OPS Type Foundry in San Francisco, CA. She has presented at The College Art Association ‘Design Incubation’ and Typoday Mumbai 2018.
