Edwin Bourquin is a typographer and hand letterer who is inspired by graffiti and street art.

He has a lifelong fascination with art and writing and was driven to develop his techniques and knowledge from a young age. He studied in Brussels, Belgium and graduated with two bachelor’s degrees in creative disciplines. Edwin holds qualifications in Visual Communications from Beaux-Arts and Typography from La Cambre.

He prefers to work manually and creates the majority of his work by hand, though he also uses Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign programs when working digitally.

Describing his influences, Edwin says, “The world of graffiti fascinates me a lot and has inspired me to change my way of working. Now I see typography in a different way, it’s very interesting and visually stronger.”
