Barry has been a maker of things since youth, the subsequent years having found him in a variety of roles: designer in a typography studio, graphic designer, art/creative director. Illustration is the common thread through these experiences, and observing the patterns and disparate nature of the world at large is key to his work. The art of Lautrec, Romare Bearden, Norman Rockwell, Guy Billout and countless others inspires and informs his style.

Barry is equally at ease with traditional media and digital painting: the former he loves for its immediate tactile effect, the latter for the ability to edit, morph and create anywhere.

In what spare time he finds he builds motorcycles and furnishings, and has a great love of national parks and sand boarding in Colorado and Oregon.
